Admission Introduction

Please explore this website and the links for all the information you should need, if you have a question that cannot be answered please email admissions@diskyoto.com

DISK is an accredited IB World School for students in grades 4 to 12. DISK welcomes children of all nationalities from foreign countries all over the globe as well as from within Japan. DISK offers an international style of education; the language of instruction for all classes, except foreign language classes, is English.

Admission decisions are made based on a range of factors; student aptitude for achievement, student motivation for success, availability of class space, and ability to be successful in an English speaking environment with a challenging and well-rounded program.  Each application is considered individually. Applications are accepted throughout the school year.

It is important to note that
  • DISK is not an English language school and we, therefore, do not teach English as a foreign language. A certain level of English proficiency is a requirement for admission to DISK. While some English language support is available to students with identified needs, we strive through our admissions procedures to attain a balance of English language ability in each grade that does not compromise English being the language of instruction and learning in all classes.
  • DISK is not a boarding school
  • students attending DISK must live with their parent/s or legal guardians through out the academic year.
  • Students must have their own device (laptop/iPad)

The year is split into three trimesters; Fall, Winter and Spring. Our main intake of new students comes at the beginning of the academic year (August). We accept new students throughout the school year.
