Welcome from the Principal of Doshisha International School, Kyoto
I welcome you to Doshisha International School, Kyoto.
I am from New Zealand "Go All Blacks". Over 31 years I have worked in schools in NZ, Indonesia, Kenya, China, Senegal, and now Japan. Our faculty come from Japan, Canada, UK, US, Sweden, South Africa, Philippines, NZ, and Holland.
I am very proud to be a member of the Doshisha family and look forward to sharing with you our amazing gem of a school.
Founded in 2011, DISK is one of the newest international schools in the Kansai area with the backing of one of the oldest and most respected names associated with higher education in Japan, Doshisha.
DISK provides students with an opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and comfortable environment that encourages attention to the understanding of others. We are focused on developing the attitudes and competences needed to take part in a global community. DISK is proud of its diverse staff who endeavor to expose students to a wide range of learning experiences.
The DISK learning environment is one of commitment to research based best practice instructional strategies, making learning visible through the systematic collection and analysis of student performance results, and a firm belief that significant and meaningful relationships between teacher and student are the foundation on which learning is built.
