About DISK
Doshisha International School, Kyoto (DISK)
Doshisha International School, Kyoto (DISK) is a proud member of the distinguished Doshisha family of schools. Established in 2011, DISK operates as part of the Doshisha International Academy (DIA) in Kizugawa City. Our educational framework is built upon Doshisha’s three core pillars: Christianity, Liberalism, and Internationalism. These principles guide us in cultivating a supportive community that emphasizes moral development, a global outlook, and academic rigor.
We provide an international curriculum in English for grades 9–12, designed to meet the needs of the internationally-minded community in the Kansai area. At DISK, we cultivate values such as friendship, respect for diverse cultures, academic achievement, collaboration, balanced living, community engagement, creativity, and self-expression. Our approach integrates a spirit of inquiry and exploration.
Our motto, “Learning for Life, Learning for the World, Learning for Love,” encourages students to become principled, open-minded inquirers committed to lifelong learning. As an IB World School, we offer the Diploma Program (DP), and our middle school curriculum is aligned with the IB Middle Years Program (MYP). By adopting the IB Learner Profile as our School Wide Learner Outcomes, we aim to develop compassionate global citizens who demonstrate integrity and respect.
