Life after DISK
University and Beyond
Universities in over 110 countries recognize the IB Diploma. It allows entrance to the most competitive universities in the world. The University Admission Authorities recognize the academic rigor of the IB, and value the core parts of the Diploma, such as TOK, CAS, and the Extended Essay.
Universities prefer IB graduates because the IB curriculum develops a balanced variety of skills. Having studied a range of subjects in years 11 and 12, IB graduates have a selection of the undergraduate programs to choose from. Employers are increasingly looking for flexibility and adaptability, something all IB gradudates can offer.
Through its University and College Counsellor, DISK will support all university applications and guide each student individually. This can be done through the Common App for the US, UCAS for the UK.
DISK can send a transcript of results for the last four years (if the student studies less than four years at DISK, the transcript will be for the years spent) to universities and colleges. For Year 12, the transcript includes predicted grades. Transcripts, and predicted grades, are confidential and will not be shared with students and parents to meet International standards.

DISK's IB Diploma Results
DISK has an outstanding academic record. Students who graduate from DISK are generally able to enter the college or university of their choice. Our recent IB Diploma results are as follows:
Our relationship with Doshisha University means that students also have the possibility to enter the university upon graduation either into a regular program if an applicant has the necessary command of Japanese, or into specific departments like the international relations department and receive an education completely in English, graduating with a degree at the end of a 4 year course. The options are wide and exciting. Our relationship with Doshisha University also gives us access to intellectual resources that may not readily be available to a school.
Graduates from DISK have enrolled in the following colleges and universities abroad and domestically (see below).
- 100% of our students earned the IB Diploma in 2021.
- Evan Arimitsu achieved a rare perfect score of 45 out of 45 points.
- Ellis Arimitsu scored an outstanding 43 out of 45 points.
- The worldwide IB Diploma average score is 33 points.
- DISK's IBDP average is 37.1 points.
