Clubs & Electives
Extracurricular Clubs
Clubs are a part of our extracurricular program that provides opportunities for students to explore interests and hobbies that they might not otherwise be able to investigate during the regular school day. Students are encouraged to participate in at least one club every term.
Cultural activities, sports, aesthetic, and recreational clubs are led by DISK teachers, although outside instructors and volunteers may also provide clubs and lessons from time to time.
On club days, sponsoring teachers and student leaders are responsible for students until the club ends at 4:25 pm. Students NOT in a club or part of any other activity programs like Community Action and Service (CAS) should make their way home in the interests of safety. All students should leave campus by 4:30 pm unless agreed.

Electives
We offer Grade 6 to 10 students a balanced range of elective opportunities that are creative, academic, or physical. Elective classes meet about ten times each quarter and vary each year.
Elective time is scheduled for one period a week and does not impact academic class time. When electives are NOT running, there is time for independent study. Measures to safeguard students' health, safety, and well-being are taken and implemented.
Students should discuss the elective choices with their parents and then indicate their first, second, and third choices. We cannot guarantee that all students will get their first choice.
