Admissions
DISK provides an internationally oriented education, with English as the medium of instruction in all classes except for foreign language courses. Each application is evaluated individually, taking into account factors such as academic aptitude, motivation, available class space, and the ability to succeed in an English-speaking, challenging, and well-rounded program.
Please Note:
Please Note:
- DISK will close in 2029 when all enrolled students have left the school. New students will continue to be admitted but only into existing grade-level classes except grades 11 and 12.
- DISK is NOT an English language school therefore we do not teach English as a foreign language.
- A level of English proficiency is a requirement for admission to DISK. While some English language support is available to students with identified needs, we strive through our admissions procedures to attain a balance of English language ability in each grade that does not compromise English being the language of instruction and learning in all classes.
- DISK is NOT a boarding school.
- Students attending DISK must live with their parent/s or legal guardian throughout the academic year.
- Students attending DISK must have their own devices (laptop/iPad).
Admission Philosophy
Applications are considered for all children regardless of race, nationality, religion, or gender. We welcome applications from internationally-minded families who support our mission and education philosophy. DISK aims to help:
- Children of all nationalities wishing to enter tertiary education overseas or within Japan.
- Children of expatriate families living in Japan.
- Children of dual nationality.
- Returnee Japanese children and those from families planning to live in an English-speaking environment.
