Scheduled Bus Service

Services

There are two bus routes in operation for students who commute by train. The buses run from Shin-Hosono station on the Kintetsu Kyoto line, Hosono station on the JR Gakkentoshi line, and Nara Tomigaoka station on the Kintetsu Keihanna. The bus journey from the station to the school is approximately 10-15 minutes. Please check the tabs below for bus departure times to and from DIA.

We use green city buses with a fixed route to and from DIA operated by Seika Town.

The sign on the bus reads Direct fixed route bus to DIA.
  • Each bus has 30 seats and space for 50 students to stand.
  • Only students approved may ride the bus. There will be NO assigned seating in the morning.
  • Grade 1 to 3 students attending DIA will have priority to use the seats.
  • Grades 4 upwards will be asked to stand.
  • Students use ICOCA cards to pay for the bus ride.

Parents are to complete the bus application form button below if their child is going to:
  • Start to ride the bus.
  • Change the bus they are riding.
  • Stop to ride the bus.

  • The school bus service operates only on designated routes.
  • Students can only get on or off the bus at the designated drop-off and pick-up locations.
  • The School Bus schedule may change to accommodate train timetable revisions.
  • Bus departure times may vary due to train delays of over 15 minutes.
  • Buses may arrive late/early due to traffic conditions.
  • Failure to comply with the following safety rules may result in the cancellation of school bus ridership:
    • Eating and drinking.
    • Opening of the bus windows.
    • Shouting or talking loudly - ride the bus quietly.
    • Follow the DISK learner profile attributes.
  • If a student is late and misses the bus departure time, the parents/guardians must assume responsibility for their child's safe arrival at school. Students may be sent via taxi from the train station to school if they miss the bus, and charges billed to the parents/guardians.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for informing the school about their child's contact information.
  • The school bus operates as safely as possible; however, in the case of an accident, DIA will not be held responsible.
  • The safety of DISK children is our paramount concern.
