Head of Schools Message
Prof. Masahiko Yanagita

Doshisha’s educational philosophy is 'Christianity', 'Liberalism', and 'Internationalism' with 'Conscience Education' as its founding spirit.
Doshisha International Academy (DIA), builds on the cornerstone of this philosophy, providing a rich educational environment and programmes to help each child live a fulfilling life while contributing to making the world a better place.
DIA has both an elementary school (DIA Elementary School) and an international school (Doshisha International School, Kyoto) on one campus creating a unique and culturally diverse learning environment.
As an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, DIA offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for grades 1-6, and IB Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 11-12. Our middle school programme for grades 6-10 is modeled on the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
Our goal is to develop bilingual internationally minded students who can think critically and creatively to solve problems and who possess the the skills and attributes necessary for life long learning.
