Role
The Board of Governors (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”) normally meets once each month during the academic school year to work on various matters to produce a resource plan to addresses short and long-term needs of the school. The Board conducts an in-depth analysis of issues in their domain and then make recommendations to the university committee. As the Board regularly reviews and refines the school's vision, mission and schoolwide values (learner outcomes) they may create ad hoc committees as needed for strategic planning, academic support, and legal issues.
Voting Rights
All members have equal voting rights.
Parent and teacher representative are elected to one-year terms by members of the DISK community comprised of parents and staff respectively. The parent election is held prior to the Annual General Meeting. New and current board members undergo annual and ongoing training to prepare for their role as well as to remain current with research-based principles related to being an effective quality international school. All elected members will then be officially appointed by the DIA HOS.
