Student Council
The DISK Student Council is a new initiative and group of action-orientated volunteer students working together to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities.
The Student Council has several aims and hopes to improve the student experience at DISK by leading various initiatives and events throughout the year.
Over the next few months, the Student Council plans to organize a bake sale, create a house system, and stage a sports event nearer Christmas.

Aims
- To plan, organize and lead projects, and activities which will be of benefit to the school community.
- To provide opportunities for leadership, and service in and outside of school.
- To encourage personal growth of all members and the school community.
- To contribute to the educational skills and experiences of students.
- To promote respect for law and order and the general wellbeing of the school community.
- To provide opportunities for expression and an increasing amount of self-direction.
- To improve understanding between and within groups through interaction and communications.
- To promote the attributes of the IB learner profile.
- To increase student involvement, and school pride.
- To develop understanding about democratic processes, through participation, collaboration, and discussion.
